How does Nila AI work?  

Start with a prompt describing what you want to create. Nila AI turns it into working designs that you can refine, explore variations for, and continue building on.

Can Nila AI work with my design system?  

Yes. Nila AI can use your design system to create designs that follow your team's components, variants, design tokens, and shared styles.

Is Nila only for designers?  

No. Nila brings designers, developers, and other team members into the same design process, with the context each person needs to create, review, and build.  

Can I manually edit AI-generated designs?  

Manual editing of AI-generated designs is coming soon. For now, you can use Nila AI to refine and iterate on generated designs.

Can Nila create prototypes with AI?  

Yes. Nila can connect the dots between your screens and turn static designs into interactive prototypes based on the intended user flow.

Does Nila generate code from my designs?  

Nila creates code-backed designs, so your design, code, and AI stay connected. As your design evolves, the corresponding code stays in sync with it.

How do design systems work in Nila?  

You can build and manage components, variants, design tokens, and shared libraries in Nila. Your design system can then be used across projects and by Nila AI when creating designs.

Can I use Nila without a design system?  

Yes. You can start creating with Nila without an existing design system and build your components, variants, design tokens, and shared styles as you go.

What are design tokens in Nila?  

Design tokens are reusable values such as colors, typography, spacing, and other design properties that help keep designs consistent across your projects.

Can I collaborate with my team in Nila?  

Yes. Your team can review designs, share contextual feedback, tag teammates, add screenshots or GIFs, and leave comments directly on designs.

Can I leave voice comments?  

Yes. Record your feedback instead of typing it. Nila converts your voice into text, while giving your teammates the option to either listen to the recording or read the comment.

What can developers access in Nila?  

Developers can inspect layers, access code, and download assets in formats optimized for different platforms, with the design context they need for development.

What is MCP?  

MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI agents connect to external tools and data.

What is the Nila MCP Server?  

Nila's MCP Server connects Nila to MCP-compatible AI agents. It gives them access to your design context and design system so they can create designs using the same components, variables, styles, and structure your team uses.

What can AI agents do through the Nila MCP Server?  

AI agents can work directly with Nila designs using Nila's native design primitives. They can create and modify designs, use components and variants, work with variables and shared styles, and build within your existing design system.

Do I need a specific AI agent to use Nila MCP?  

No. You can connect Nila to MCP-compatible AI agents and choose the agents and LLMs you want to use.

Is the Nila MCP Server free?  

Yes. Nila provides the MCP Server and design infrastructure for free. You choose your own AI agents and LLMs and handle any associated token costs.
