Design With Nila AI  

Nila AI helps you move from an idea to a working design using prompts.

Start by describing what you want to create. Your prompt can include the type of product or page, the screens you need, features to include, visual direction, or other requirements.

You can also bring your design system into the creation process, giving Nila AI the context to create using the components and styles your team already works with.

Once your design is generated, continue prompting Nila AI to refine it. Explore different directions, update layouts and content, or make changes across the design until it matches what you have in mind.

Build With Your Design System  

Your design system forms the foundation for creating consistent designs in Nila.

You can build reusable resources such as:

• Components for interface elements such as buttons, inputs, cards, and navigation.

• Variants for different versions and states of a component.

• Variables and styles for reusable design values that keep your visual language consistent.

• Shared libraries for making components and styles available across projects.

You can build your design system yourself or start one with Nila AI by describing the foundations, components, patterns, and other resources you need.

Your design system can also become part of the context Nila AI uses when creating designs. This keeps AI-generated work aligned with the same system your team uses across projects.

Create Interactive Prototypes  

Turn your screens into an interactive experience without separating prototyping from the rest of your design process.

Add interactions and transitions between screens to demonstrate how someone moves through your product and experience complete user flows instead of reviewing individual static screens.

When a design is ready for development, developers can inspect layers and their properties, access assets, view the code behind the design, and download the code they need for development.

Collaborate on Designs  

Nila keeps conversations connected to the part of the design being discussed.

Pin a comment to an exact spot on the canvas or annotate a specific layer. You can tag teammates, attach screenshots or GIFs, and keep feedback alongside the design it refers to.

You can also leave voice comments when it is easier to explain something by speaking. Nila converts your recording into text, giving teammates the option to listen to the comment or read the transcription.

The Library makes reusable design resources available across projects.

When a project is published to the Library, your team can access its components and styles and use them in other designs.

This gives teams a shared source for reusable design resources and helps keep designs consistent across projects.

Work With AI Agents Through MCP  

Nila can also connect to external AI agents through the Nila MCP Server.

MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that allows compatible AI clients to connect to external tools and data. Through Nila's MCP Server, AI agents can access the design context they need to work directly with your Nila designs.

Connected agents can create and modify native Nila designs, work with components and variants, use variables, and apply shared styles from your design system.

This means an AI agent can create within the same system your team uses, and the result remains a native Nila design that you can continue working with.

The Nila MCP Server is free. You choose your own AI agents and LLMs and handle their token costs, while Nila provides the design infrastructure.
